PREEN
Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi first met aged 18 on the Isle of Man, where they both grew up. In 1996, they set up shop on Notting Hill’s Portobello Road, and it wasn’t long before their designs were flying off the rails.
From the start, their one-off creations displayed many of the themes that Preen would revisit over the next decade – Victoriana, recycling, deconstruction, punk rock.
For Pre-Fall 2013 Preen delve into the anarchic punk sub-culture - just in time for the massive punk exhibition at the Met in New York. Their hard-edged sophistication is reached through graphic plaid biker jackets, collage-printed blouses, and lace dresses with a rebellious flair.
