BEAUTY TRENDS MILAN FASHION WEEK
Natural skin All over the catwalks we’ve been seeing variations of natural-looking skin and the Marni show was no exception. "There's not much here in terms of make-up," said make-up artist Tom Pecheux. "It's ultra-natural. I'm blending blush into the hollows of the cheeks and patting a beige hue onto lips.”
Forget about your brows, for SS14 it’s all about your eyes. Over at Iceberg, make-up artist Lucia Pica hailed MAC's Blacktrack Gel Liner as her product of choice. Drawing a straight black line across the eye really served to elongate it and add a graphic, masculine edge. 'This is skater girl cool,' she explained. 'She hangs with all the hot boys.'
The orange lipstick trend that we first saw on the New York catwalks has continued to Milan, models at DSquared2 were seen rocking the power pouts and make-up artist Tom Pecheux offset the dewy, glowy skin he is known for, with a matte orange lip at Ports 1961. MAC make-up artist Mikale also created a matte neon lip for John Richmond
Glowing skin and cheeks with a perfect flush was the order of the day over at Sportmax and Charlotte Tilbury was on hand again to create the look. 'It's a version of natural. I'm using a rosebud shade of Velvetease Lip Pencil in Aim to Please on the lips, blurring it out slightly at the edges and then taking it onto the cheeks for that flushed glow.”
It was all about bronzed goddesses at Etro, make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury explains: ”it's not a difficult look. I'm sweeping MAC mineralize skin finish in medium and medium dark onto cheekbones and the bridge of the nose; and then layering Casual Colour in Pleasure Model onto the apples of cheeks for the ultimate golden glow.”
