50 SHADES



If you have to buy a book with 50 shades in the title, make it this fun coffee table book "50 Shades"
by Lauren Goldstein-Crowe.  A writer who has written about the fashion industry for over 20 years, she has written for numerous publications including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and the Times.  She has appeared as fashion expert on CNN and Bloomberg TV.

Lauren is also the author of Isabella blow a life in fashion and The Towering World of Jimmy Choo.

50 Shades published on the 21st November by Reel Art Press, has some stunning photography from the archives of Getty Images and features some of the most celebrated icons of the 20th century.

This unique book features 50 carefully selected icons from the world of literature, music, film and politics, they are some of the most glamorous and infamous people of the modern era.

Photographed wearing shades, the images speak volumes about how the celebrities see themselves and want us to see them.  This book also illustrates how some of the most fascinating figures in popular culture dealt with public scrutiny.

  Carnaby collaborates with The Rolling Stones for Christmas  Carnaby collaborates with The Rolling Stones for ChristmasCarnaby Street has collaborated with The Rolling Stones in celebration of their 50th Anniversary for the 2012 Christmas installations. Carnaby is world famous for its music heritage as well as its fashion heritage and this year’s Christmas designs will be a very special project with the greatest rock’n’roll band in the world.The Christmas decorations will consist of huge 3D spheres suspended throughout Carnaby Street containing gold and silver vinyl records emblazoned with the bands iconic artwork and album covers. The Carnaby arches will also be dressed with The Stones iconic tongue logo. The outdoor installations tell a visual story from the band’s creation in the 1960s to the present day.

The installations launched on the 8th of November will be in place until 6 January 2013. In addition there will be a Rolling Stones pop up shop in Carnaby. This will be a curated space that will sell limited edition apparel and prints plus the band’s new Greatest Hits collection GRRR!, released on 12 November . A limited edition canvas shopping bag will also be available for Carnaby shoppers.
The Rolling Stones / Carnaby relationship started in the 1960s. The band would often frequent the shops in Carnaby Street, and just round the corner in Broadwick Street they rehearsed for their first live shows.
