RECORD STORE DAY

On Saturday 20 April 12-7pm vinyl destination Berwick Street Soho will be transformed into a mini music festival for Record Store Day. Performing live from the street stage will be cult rock band Wire, Frank Turner, Steve Mason, Gabrielle Aplin and critically acclaimed Matthew E White. There will also be DJs, discounts and parties in the stores throughout the day. Berwick Street has been a destination for vinyl record collectors since the 1980’s when it became known as ‘The Golden Mile of Vinyl’ and it's still home to London’s largest concentration of thriving independent record shops. STEPHEN JONES

Stephen Jones milliner has launched his first high street collection with Debenhams.  "Jasper  
Conran was the first designer to work with Debenhams and he still really enjoys the experience," Jones told us. "I had been approached by a number of brands before, but they always felt wrong. This felt like the right time. I liked the idea of creating my hats at a lower price point and allowing a different type of customer to buy them." 

The 27-piece collection also sees the renowned milliner launch handbags for the first time. Whether hats or bags, the range follows the same theme - Paris-meets-London. While some styles embody the drama of Jones' mainline, others are more subtle - including headbands with bows covered in jewels, elegant cloches and fascinators decorated with colourful flowers.
