MARIO SCHWAB AT DEBENHAMS

Marios with a model in one of his creations.

With his unique understanding of a woman’s contours, Marios Schwab’s body-conscious designs have won him the hearts of fashion critics and A-listers alike, including Kristen Stewart, Kylie and Jessica Alba.
Before launching his London-based label in 2005, Greco-Austrian Schwab honed his fashion skills at London’s prestigious Central Saint Martins college, and showed for three seasons as part of Fashion East’s initiative for emerging designers.
He won the Best New Designer gong at the 2006 British Fashion Awards and made his independent debut at London Fashion Week for spring/summer 2007. Sealing his arrival as one of the most exciting designers of his generation, in 2009 he was appointed creative director of the iconic label Halston in what Vogue described as a ‘match made in heaven’.
His collaboration with Debenhams looks set to be equally thrilling, with Schwab saying: ‘I’ve brought the DNA of my label to a wider range of women, taking inspiration from signature pieces of my collections and adapting them for a customer who is confident and knows exactly what she is looking for in her wardrobe.’

AZEALIA BANKS

For his T campaigns, Alexander Wang tends to forgo the models for musicians. First there was Santigold and Spank Rock, then Die Antwoord, and now, for Autumn, the rap-and-pop darling of the moment, Azealia Banks. It’s not the first time the two have linked up. Banks was Wang’s date for the 2012 Met Gala, as well as providing the music for his Spring 2012 AW campaign with Liya Kibede. Why the move in front of the camera? “She exudes a certain rawness that makes her a very unique talent,” Wang says. “I loved working with her on this video for T Fall 2012, and think the collaboration captures a collision of energies.” Daniel Jackson directed the spot, which features Banks rapping “Van Vogue” from her recent EP 1991, with styling by Alastair McKimm. The video debuts exclusively here on Style.com.

BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD

The first film from Benh Zeitlin, it’s adapted from a stage play by Lucy Alibar called ‘Juicy and Delicious’. But this must be one of the least stagy adaptations ever made. Beasts of the Southern Wild is a soaring, poetic, magic realist film, a fairytale of a sort, set in ‘the bathtub’, a ravaged, swampy basin outside the flood barrier that was meant to protect New Orleans.

It’s not much but it’s home to six-year-old Hushpuppy (Quvenzhane Wallis) and her ailing father, Wink (Dwight Henry), and a scattered group of hold-outs, too poor and proud to allow themselves to be relocated to what they call ‘the dry world’.
Hushpuppy lives in ramshackle hut a few hundred feet from her closest neighbour, her father. He knows his days are numbered and means to see that his girl is prepared to fend for herself. He may be overestimating her though: in one early scene she accidentally sets fire to the place.

The film chronicles their survival struggles in the wake of a great flood – it’s impossible not to think of the devastating Hurricane Katrina though it’s never named.     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZF7i2n5NXLo WATCH THE TRAILER HERE

PUDSEY BEAR

The world's leading fashion designer brands have given the BBC Children in Need mascot, Pudsey Bear, a make-over in anticipation of this year's charity initiative.

All of the 28-inch bears will be exhibited in Selfridges stores in London and Manchester from today until the 14th November, before being auctioned off to raise money for the children's charity. What's more, Paul Smith, Anya Hindmarch and Selfridges have created smaller limited edition Pudseys, which will be sold exclusively in the department store.

Sarah Monteith, director of marketing and fundraising for BBC Children in Need, said: 'We are absolutely elated to have such prestigious designers turn Pudsey into a fashion icon once again. And to have Selfridges exhibit this one-off collection, allows everyone to view a piece of fashion history. A truly inspirational fundraising initiative.'

To find out more about the designer Pudsey Bear auction visit bbc.co.uk. BBC Children in Need 2012 will take place on Friday 16th November.
