Mischa Barton has launched her own boutique in Londons Spitalfields, following the success of her handbag and accessories line.  Tweeting about her new project Mischa revealed  she was thrilled to be finally unveiling  her flagship store.  "I'm so excited for the store launch, its really something to be proud of"  "its gorgeous".

Mischa is no stranger to the fashion industry , she has her own shopping website and successful handbag range, which is in its ninth season.

the clothing collection she says is based on her own persoal style, "there are very young pieces, somre sophisticated mature pieces and also some quirky stuff thats more like my wardrobe."

Prices will range from £25 - £250  "I don't think my fans are going out buying bags at £2,000"  "its has to be accessible, I like the idea of making really cool things that are actually available to people."



Says the British-born starlet: "Together with the help of my Mum Nuala, my inspirations are brought to life using elements of my personal style. Our Collection has grown and developed to reflect the consumer and myself over the seasons, whilst maintaining a consistent theme.

LANVIN A/W 2012

How did an 82 year old grandmother of ten become the star of Lanvin's Autumn/Winter 2012 Ad campaign.

Lanvin Designer and Creative Director, Aber Elbez decided to cast real people for A/W 2012 Ad campaign, shot by Steven Meisel, Elbaz wanted to capture the real beauty of ordinary people. The cast of which is 18 to 82. The interest in its oldest cast member Jacqui "Tajah" Murdoch has gone viral and has caused quite a buzz. With good reason, as she is elegant, interesting and stylish.

"I wanted to be another Josephine Baker or a High Fashion runway model"  "the opportunities were not there for women of colour".  failing to land  high profile modelling job she became a dancer and performed at the Apollo with the likes of Count Basie.  Intent on educating herself she earned herself  three degrees at New York University.

Despite Academic credentials  she has always retained her focus on fashion.  "you will never see me in jeans, unless they are white"  "because its  too common,"  "i wear mostly dresses, I like to be different".  She says she had a wondeful time on the Lanvin campaign set. Her reaction "its been a long time coming.

As well as performing and Lecturing at Harlem's Jazz Museum,  Ms Murdoch insists she will never retire and is writing her memoir.
