The Vicky Zhang parent-child collection began with an elegant and calming colour scheme: baby blue and white. The collection was complete for the entire family, as Vicky Zhang used small groups of one adult and two children model, to tailor each piece on different sizes and variations – one for a boy, girl and woman.
His creations were astonishing and served as probably the most innocent, yet sophisticated, forms of collaboration between child and parent wardrobe. The runway was flooded with joyous kids in their rendition (or child version) of a gown, romper, skylight themed pants, sandals with stones and peach-coloured cover ups

Zhang was clever with the choice of accessories that could easily be construed as more than a supplement. One example of large bow the size of the model’s entire back, started from the shoulders and went down to the ground with an asymmetrical form. Other types of bows were tied along the side or exchanged for chains hanging down the side. Another accessory, a tie covered in pastel flowers, was a mature and sophisticated addition to the children’s wear – but the girls certainly all looked like young princesses. Even the belts were more like large bands, or metal pieces on top of silk pants, between a skirt and fitted shirt.
A golden gown with waves starting from the end of the bodice to the ground, was a show-stopping piece. The upper portion was long sleeved and form fitting. A similar piece was worn by both the parent and child models, with its skirt section of the dress protruding out about the size of a table. The fabric at the waistline formed endless tear drop shapes to complete the full circle. When this dress was worn on the child model, she resembled Belle of Beauty and the Beast, and sparkled under the light.
Other gowns had tiny gold chains across the back, or chains with teal beads down the spine, and rhinestones down the arm. The flaring dresses, white, blue, and silver in colour, with a bare back and spaghetti thin straps. The most electrifying pieces were created with plastic material attached on various places, foot of the dress, sleeve are, upper torso, etc. This new collection is best described as a one-stop shop for exquisite and exclusive wear for the whole family.
