Giles Deacon has designed a capsule collection for online store Matches. The collection will include, dresses, homeware and accessories.
The pieces available - including linear T-shirt dresses, sundresses, chinaware and notebooks - feature hand-drawn illustrations, based on a series dolls created by the designer.
"I always have a stack of sketch books on the go at any one time." Deacon told us last night (dressed entirely normally, bar two arresting - but thankfully fake - Halloween scars on his face). "The difficulty is that I travel a lot and, logistically, it's not that easy carrying everything around with you from country to country."
So why did the designer decide to design this exclusively for Matches?
"Matches is good at supporting British designers and promoting them on a worldwide stage," he said. "I love their progressiveness. I wanted to design a line that had something for everyone and pieces at a reasonable price too - so there are plates, cashmere scarves, canvas tote bags, as well as the dolls."
