THE WORLD'S LONGEST TUNNEL SLIDE

Here's a new and unusual way to take in the London skyline: by zipping down a tunnel slide that claims to be the world's tallest—and longest. 



Simply called The Slide, the 584-foot-long attraction today at London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford. It was built around the ArcelorMittal Orbit, a 377-foot-high public artwork and observation tower opened to commemorate the London 2012 Olympics. The Slide features both exposed and covered sections—the exposed sections are covered with transparent material—to allow riders see the London skyline.



"Visitors will circle around the ArcelorMittal Orbit 12 times as they weave their way through the famous loops and curves of the iconic structure." Those curves include "a tight corkscrew section," and the experience, which lasts 40 seconds, ends with a 164-foot "straight run back down to earth!" the website says. Visitors whizzing through the snaking tube can go as fast as 15 mph.

Buy a combined entry ticket for the ArcelorMittal Orbit and the Slide,

Select the time that you want to slide,

Be at least 1.3m tall and 8 years old,

Weigh under 130kg (22 stone)
