HOLLYWOOD COSTUMES

Hollywood's most beautiful costumes will be displayed for the first time at a major exhibition, hosted at the V&A from October 20.

"This exhibition developed from my passion for Hollywood costume design, inspiring scholarship from the glamorous Golden Age to the cutting-age digital technology of John Carter," said the exhibition's senior guest curator Deborah Nadoolman Landis. "Hollywood Costume will spotlight the crucial role of the costume designer in bringing the authentic people in the story to life."

The exhibition will house over 100 of cinema's most famous and iconic looks, including Johnny Depp's Pirates of the Caribbean costume and Judy Garland's gingham The Wizard Of Oz dress.

"No exhibition before has starred so many of the most ravishing costumes and celebrated characters from a century of film-making, with many favourites from Marlene Dietrich in Angel(designer Travis Banton), Joan Crawford in The Bride Wore Red (designer Adrian), Jessica Rabbit (designer Joanna Johnston), Kate Winslet in Titanic (designer Deborah Scott), and Keira Knightley in Atonement (designer Jacqueline Durran)," said Nadoolman.
