GIVENCHY PARIS FASHION WEEK S/S 2013
Designer Riccardo Tisca unveiled a collection for French fashion house Givenchy that featured an ecclesiastical scene at Paris Fashion Week yesterday.
A giant church organ in the heart of the venue and the scent of Myrrh filled the air, it felt like a Sunday service.
The monastic designs were dominantly black and white with flashes of baby blue and dove grey. Vertical flounces accentuated monochrome dresses and tops, balloon sleeves opened up and fastened at the back like angels wings.
Models stepped out in chignons and looked Nun like in tops and dresses of layered organza. Tafetta tunics with bouffants brought flashes of volume to the otherwise linear silhouette.
There were skirts with trains and long bare baked white dresses which continued the theme of celibacy chic, think 1980's Madonna, like a virgin.
