SPRING/SUMMER 2014
The Looks for Spring/Summer 2014 were unveiled at New York Fashion Week yesterday.
As New York Fashion Week kicked off Thursday, top international designers and brands owners are taking to the stage to debut their visions for the spring 2014 fashion season.
According to the organizers, nearly 90 designers from over 30 countries will show up during the eight-day fashion week that is expected to attract wide media coverage, and historical highs of buyers, industry professionals and fashion forward consumers.
"Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York is internationally recognized as the world's stage to premier the latest developments in cutting-edge fashion to the global fashion industry," said Stephanie Zimmer, Manager of Brand Experience Marketing for Mercedes-Benz USA. "The excitement is building in anticipation of what will hit the runways from both the well-known
designers and emerging talent showing this season."
New York Fashion Week is considered as the home to the most internationally diverse groups of established and emerging talents. This season South Africa native brand DAVID TLALE, Australian labels SASS & BIDE and DION LEE, for instance, have joined the roster of designers who make the runways of New York their home.
It's estimated that in the following eight days of shows and events, more than 100,000 people, including buyers and members of the industry will make the fashion venue Lincoln Center become the heartbeat of the city.
