MINNIE MOUSE AT LONDON FASHION WEEK
MINNIE MOUSE is set to become a true fashion icon during London Fashion Week in September, as designers - from Richard Nicoll and Katie Hillier to Giles Deacon and Terry de Havilland - get ready to create one-off garments inspired by her unique style. Other designers to take part include Michael van der Ham, Lulu Guinness, Piers Atkinson, Bunney, Husam el Odeh in collaboration with Luke Hersheson, and Meadham Kirchhoff - who will unveil a collaboration with the famed Disney character at its spring/summer 2013 show.
The Minnie Mouse Must Haves will be unveiled during LFW, before being auctioned on eBay for charity Fashion Arts Foundation, which aims to promote and nurture relationships between the fashion, film, music and art worlds.
"Minnie Mouse and her unique style continue to inspire fans across the world," said The Walt Disney Company fashion and home vice president Marc Low. "We're thrilled to collaborate with such visionaries to create these one-off designs. Surpassing trends, Minnie Mouse's iconic silhouette, signature bows and polka dots always remain in style, which is why she is as relevant today as the day she first appeared on the fashion scene. London Fashion Week is the perfect stage for Disney, one of the world's largest apparel brands, to put a spotlight on Minnie Mouse."
